Step-by-Step Guide to Replacing Your Laptop Screen
A broken screen doesn't mean a broken laptop.
Safety First
* Turn off the laptop. * Unplug the charger. * Remove the battery (if possible) or disconnect the battery cable internally.Step 1: Remove the Bezel
Most bezels snap off or are held by hidden screws under rubber covers. Use a plastic pry tool to gently separate it.Step 2: Unscrew the Panel
Remove the small screws holding the LCD panel to the metal brackets. Keep these screws separate!Step 3: Disconnect the Video Cable
Gently tilt the screen forward. You'll see a 30-pin or 40-pin connector. Peel back the tape and gently unplug it.Step 4: Install the New Panel
Connect the cable to the new screen. Secure it with tape.Step 5: Test Before Reassembly
Reconnect the battery and turn on the laptop to verify the screen works before putting the bezel back on.Step 6: Reassemble
Screw the panel back in and snap the bezel into place.Too risky? Screen replacements are one of our specialties. We stock screens for most models. Get a quote.
