Transparent, Tiered Pricing
Three clear price points that match the three realistic data recovery scenarios. You know exactly where you stand before your drive arrives at our workshop.
Every recovery includes a complete diagnostic report, so you always have real answers.
File Copy From a Working Drive
Your drive still works perfectly and you simply want files moved to a new drive, SSD, NAS or cloud storage. Quick, straightforward, stress-free.
Best for:
- Upgrading to a new computer
- Moving to a larger drive or SSD
- Backing up before a repair
- Setting up a NAS or external backup
Fixed price — no diagnosis needed
Logical Recovery From a Detected Drive
Your drive is still detected by the computer but something is wrong: files deleted, drive accidentally formatted, corrupt partitions, BitLocker or password trouble, or a firmware glitch. Non-invasive recovery using professional software in a controlled lab environment.
Best for:
- Accidentally deleted files
- Quick-formatted drive
- Corrupt partition or RAW file system
- BitLocker or FileVault password (with credentials)
- Drive visible in disk manager but not mounting
£99 only if we recover your data. If we cannot, or you cancel, you pay just £30.
Physical Recovery From a Failed Drive
Your drive shows mechanical symptoms: clicking, beeping, not spinning, dropped, water damage, or burnt PCB. This requires lab-level hardware work and sometimes donor parts. We assess every drive first, so you know the realistic odds before we open anything up.
Best for:
- Clicking or grinding hard drives
- Drives that fail to spin up
- Dropped or impact-damaged drives
- Water, fire or power-surge damage
- Failed SSDs with controller issues
- RAID arrays with multiple drive failures
£199 only if we recover your data. If we cannot, or you cancel, you pay just £30. If donor parts are needed we re-quote before proceeding.
If we recover your data
You pay the tier price — from £99 for logical recovery or from £199 for physical recovery. The final price is confirmed after the initial assessment, before any chargeable work begins. No hidden charges, no surprise invoices. Recovered files come back on the destination of your choice with a full file listing.
If we cannot recover it, or you cancel
You only pay a £30 diagnostic fee. That is it. You receive the full diagnostic report explaining what went wrong, and your drive back. No hidden costs, no pressure to proceed.
If we need specialist parts
If recovery needs parts such as a matching donor drive, replacement heads or a custom PCB, we pause and send you a clear revised quote. Nothing more is spent without your approval.
Honest Expectations About Data Recovery
Not every data loss situation can be fully recovered, particularly with severe platter damage or burnt-out controllers. Our commitment is simple: a realistic assessment before any work, transparent pricing, and a complete diagnostic report whether or not the recovery succeeds. We strongly recommend keeping a regular backup of important data. Full terms are available in our Terms and Conditions.
Common Causes of Data Loss We Assess
Whatever caused your data loss, our experienced technicians can assess the situation and advise on recovery options. Here's what to do and what NOT to do.
Mechanical Failure
Clicking, grinding, or beeping sounds may indicate head crash or motor failure. These cases require careful professional assessment to avoid further damage.
Do NOT attempt DIY recovery - may cause permanent data loss
Accidental Deletion
Deleted files, emptied recycle bin, or accidentally formatted drives. Data may remain recoverable until overwritten by new data.
Stop using the drive immediately to improve recovery chances
Ransomware & Virus
Encrypted files from ransomware attacks, corrupted data from malware, or virus-damaged file systems. Professional assessment may identify recovery options.
Disconnect from network immediately and seek professional help
Physical Damage
Dropped devices, water damage, fire damage, or electrical surge. Physical inspection and professional assessment may be required.
Keep device dry and do not attempt to power on
Firmware Corruption
Drive not recognised, wrong capacity shown, or boot sector corruption. Firmware diagnosis may restore access without data loss.
Do not use disk repair utilities - may cause more damage
Logical Corruption
File system errors, partition table damage, or operating system crashes. Often recoverable without physical intervention.
Do not write new data to affected drive
Our Data Recovery Process
Simple, transparent process with no obligation. We provide honest assessments and only proceed with your approval.
Professional Diagnosis
Bring your device to our Bournemouth workshop or post it in using our mail-in service. We run a full lab diagnosis and recovery attempt. If we recover your data, the tier price applies (from £99 or from £199). If we cannot recover it or you choose not to proceed, you pay just a £30 diagnostic fee. Either way you receive a complete report on what failed, what we found, and what is recoverable.
£30 diagnostic fee only — nothing more if we cannot recoverTransparent Quote
If the recovery needs specialist parts such as a matching donor drive, replacement heads or a custom PCB, we pause the job, send you a clear revised quote, and wait for your go-ahead. You stay in control of the cost at every step, with no surprises.

Our technicians use professional hardware and software tools in a controlled environment to extract your data safely. Every case is handled with full confidentiality and care.

Data Recovery FAQs
Common questions about our data recovery services in Bournemouth and across the UK
How much does data recovery cost in the UK?▼
Our pricing is transparent and tiered. File copy from a working drive is a fixed £49. Logical recovery (deleted files, corrupt partitions, formatted drives, firmware issues) starts from £99 if we successfully recover your data. Physical recovery (clicking drives, failed SSDs, mechanical failure, water or fire damage) starts from £199 if we successfully recover your data. The final price is confirmed after the initial assessment. If we cannot recover the data, or you decide not to proceed, you only pay a £30 diagnostic fee. If specialist parts are needed, we pause and send you a clear revised quote before doing anything further, so you are always in control of the cost.
What if you cannot recover my data?▼
If recovery is not possible, you only pay a £30 diagnostic fee, nothing more. You receive the full diagnostic report explaining exactly what happened and why, and your drive back. We never charge the full tier price for an unsuccessful recovery.
What if I decide not to proceed after the diagnosis?▼
If after our diagnosis you prefer not to continue, you only pay the £30 diagnostic fee for the assessment work already done. You are never invoiced for anything we have not delivered, and you keep the full report with our findings.
Can you recover data from a clicking hard drive?▼
Clicking hard drives are one of the most common physical recovery cases we handle. The clicking usually indicates a head crash or motor issue. Please do not attempt to power the drive on repeatedly, as this can cause permanent damage to the platters. Bring it to us as soon as possible for a professional assessment. Physical recovery starts at £199.
How long does data recovery take?▼
File copy from a working drive is usually same day or next day. Logical recovery typically takes 2-5 working days. Physical recovery takes 3-10 working days depending on the complexity and whether donor parts are needed. We always confirm realistic timescales after our initial assessment.
Do you recover data from water damaged devices?▼
Yes, we assess water-damaged hard drives, phones, laptops and other devices. For best results, do not attempt to dry or power on the device. Seal it in a bag and bring or post it to us as quickly as possible. Time is critical for water damage recovery.
Can you recover data from a formatted drive?▼
Yes, in most cases. Formatting removes the file system index but usually does not immediately overwrite the actual data. Logical recovery from a quick-formatted drive starts at £99 and success rates are high as long as the drive has not been used since the format.
Is my data kept confidential?▼
Confidentiality is taken seriously at every stage. Files are accessed only as needed for recovery, all staff sign confidentiality agreements, and drives are held in a secure workshop. NDAs can be provided for sensitive business data on request.
Do you offer data recovery outside Bournemouth?▼
Yes. Our workshop is in Bournemouth but we provide UK-wide mail-in data recovery. Customers across Dorset including Poole, Christchurch, Wimborne, Ferndown and Ringwood visit the workshop, while customers further afield post their device to us securely. Nationwide tracked return delivery is available.
What should I do if my hard drive is making clicking sounds?▼
If your hard drive is clicking: 1) Power off immediately. 2) Do not shake, tap or move the drive. 3) Do not freeze the drive (condensation damage). 4) Do not run disk repair or recovery software. 5) Contact us straight away for a professional lab assessment.
Can you recover data from encrypted drives?▼
Yes, provided you have the password or recovery key. BitLocker, FileVault and VeraCrypt recoveries require your credentials. For ransomware encryption, recovery options depend on the specific variant and we will tell you honestly whether there is a realistic path forward.
What if the data turns out to be unrecoverable?▼
Not every data loss situation can be recovered, particularly with severe platter damage or burnt-out controllers. We give you an honest assessment of the realistic chances before committing to the full recovery. If we cannot recover your data, you only pay a £30 diagnostic fee, and you receive a complete report explaining exactly why. Never more than £30 for an unsuccessful recovery.
