The larger display assembly is heavier, placing greater strain on the hinge mechanism and the display flex cable that connects the panel to the logic board. Over years of daily use, the thicker flex cable required for the 16-inch panel can develop micro-fractures from repeated hinge cycling, potentially causing intermittent flickering or partial display failure.
